Privacy policy

Last updated: March 29, 2026 · Controller: Shipyard Intel (referred to as "we", "us", or "our").

1. Scope

This policy describes how we handle information when you visit shipyardintel.io(the "Site"), use our feedback or contact forms, or otherwise interact with our public web presence. It is intended to be clear and practical; it is not legal advice.

2. What we collect

Depending on how you use the Site, we may process:

  • Technical and connection data automatically provided by your browser or network, such as IP address (used in server logs and for approximate location / security), HTTP request headers (for example User-Agent, Accept-Language), referrer URL, requested page path and query string, and timestamps.
  • First-party cookies. We may set a small, HTTP-only first-party cookie (for example under the name si_vid) that assigns a random visitor identifier. This helps us understand repeat visits and correlate events in our own systems. It is not used to track you across unrelated third-party sites.
  • Cookie and storage names present on requests to our Site (typically only the names of first-party cookies we set, not values of third-party cookies we do not control).
  • Client-side context you allow the Site to read via standard browser APIs when the page loads, such as language preference, time zone, screen and viewport dimensions, and coarse network connection type when exposed by the browser.
  • Marketing parameters in the URL (for example UTM tags) when present.
  • Information you submit in forms (for example role, region, free-text feedback, name, company, email, and your choices about follow-up). If you choose not to provide contact details, we may still store technical data from that session.

3. Visitor intelligence, Telegram alerts, and sales follow-up

To operate the Site and respond to interest in our products, we use the data above in a visitor intelligence workflow:

  • Events (such as page views and form submissions) may be logged on our servers when configured (for example append-only logs on infrastructure we control). On some hosted platforms, persistent file storage may not be available unless we configure a database or object store.
  • For timely awareness, we may send automated notifications (for example via a Telegram bot) to designated Shipyard Intel staff. Those messages may include a subset of technical data (such as visitor identifier, approximate network origin, page URL, user-agent summary, and form content you submitted) plus research hints such as suggested public web search links derived from a business email domain or company name you provided. We do not use this feature to read third-party cookies from other websites or to bypass login protections elsewhere.
  • We may use submitted and technical information to prioritise sales outreach, improve the Site, and plan product work. Any automated "backstory" or profiling is limited to reasonable B2B context (for example public company information) and human review; it is not a guarantee about any individual.

4. Legal bases and retention (summary)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on appropriate grounds such as legitimate interests (operating and securing the Site, understanding product interest, limited B2B outreach) and, where required, consent(for example for optional marketing cookies if we add them). Retention depends on the system: server logs and analytics-style records are kept only as long as needed for security, analytics, and legal obligations, then deleted or aggregated. Telegram messages are stored according to Telegram's policies as well as our internal retention practices.

5. Sharing and processors

We use service providers as needed to run the Site (for example hosting, DNS, and messaging). Telegram LLC (or its affiliates) may process notification content you trigger when we send alerts to our own bot. We do not sell your personal information as a commodity.

6. International transfers

Our infrastructure and tools may be located outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) or rely on adequacy decisions.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. You may also have the right to data portability where applicable.

8. How to request deletion from our corporate systems

To ask us to delete or restrict personal data held in our corporate systems in connection with the Site or leads generated through it, email us at the contact address published on the Site (or use the form below). Please include the email address you used on a form, if any, and any reference we gave you. We will verify requests where appropriate and respond within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days, subject to complexity and law).

Note: we may need to retain certain records where the law requires (for example tax or accounting records) or where deletion would compromise security logs in an unreasonable way; we will explain any limitation when it applies.

Request deletion of your information

Use this form to ask us to delete or restrict personal data we hold in our corporate systems (website analytics, lead records, and related sales tooling). We may need to verify your identity. If you were only a casual browser and never shared contact details, include any email you may have used in a form so we can match records.

9. Children

The Site is aimed at businesses and professionals. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site.

11. Contact

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us through the details on the contact section of the homepage, or use the deletion request form above.
